  3. 30 May 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We have released a hotfix for the latest update based on your feedback and our additional testing. Also, we have squeezed in a couple fixes for older issues. Please update your build to the latest version. The F4U-1D Corsair by Magnitude LLC is progressing well and is now in testing! Its launch will be based on results of careful testing and creating content for it. We kindly invite you to read the details below of this amazing aircraft and stay tuned for early access! Please watch this DCS / Pimax Interview to discover how Pimax and Eagle Dynamics works together to push the boundaries of flight simulation with cutting-edge VR immersion and stunning realism. If you or someone with a disability that is interested in getting involved with flight simulations, the DCS 4 Disabilities Discord group is your next stop! This group can help adapt your controllers, write scripts to improve accessibility, and test ergonomic layouts. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics DCS Hotfix Development Progress Quick fixes based on your feedback This hotfix aims to resolve several issues that came to light following the last DCS update. Also, we have included a couple fixes for issues found earlier but we could squeeze in this hotfix with everything else. We have written a quick fix for high CPU load that occurs on the main menu and was observed and reported by the community after the last update. We have also included Quick Action Generator changes such as a "Random" skill level to Al and a fix for missions not regenerated even when the "regenerate" button is pressed. We solved a couple more long-standing issues and added them to this update; problems with track replays not saving properly and an infantry disembarkment issue when a mission is running on a dedicated server. Finally, issues with the multiplayer scoreboard not updating properly has also been resolved. F4U-1D Corsair Development Progress Since 2017, Magnitude 3 LLC has dedicated immense effort to bring this iconic World War II fighter to DCS. It played a pivotal role in the Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO), and it became a symbol of aerial prowess thanks to its speed, climb rate, and toughness. It even had a smaller role in the European Theater of Operations. Developing this module has proven more challenging than the Magnitude team anticipated. The Corsair's unusual design was revolutionary for its time, and its flight dynamics are complex. The combination of a powerful engine and huge propeller; its distinctive gull wings; large flaps; and its robust landing gear that also acted as an airbrake created a challenge in airflow dynamics and handling characteristics. We Solved It “While perfection is an elusive goal, we do not claim our Flight Model (FM) to be flawless; we acknowledge that there is always room for further refinement and improvements. However, the current FM has been thoroughly validated and closely mirrors the real aircraft's behavior, surpassing the realism of any previous Corsair FM developed for flight simulators.” - Magnitude 3 LLC It Only Gets Better “Currently, we have a few remaining items on our development list for the module. For example, the implementation of the "Bat Bomb" (ASM-N-2 Bat), for which the initial implementation is complete. Further work will ensure its seamless integration into the DCS environment.” - Magnitude 3 LLC Key Features in Early Access: High-quality external 3D model Fully clickable cockpit with 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) and the latest visual effects Flight Dynamics based on official reports, CFD research, and pilot feedback Engine and propeller control systems Fuel system and optional external tanks Electrical system Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Radio-navigation systems Structure-based damage model Carrier-capable aircraft Manual in English (PDF format) Early Access Weapons: 6 x 0.50-inch (12.7 mm) M2 Browning machine guns 8 x 5-inch (12.7 cm) High-Velocity Aircraft Rockets (HVAR) External fuel tanks and bombs up to 4,000 lb (1,800 kg) To enhance the Corsair experience, Magnitude 3 LLC will include an Essex-class aircraft carrier. This ship class was a pivotal PTO component of U.S. naval power, and it was one of the most numerous capital ship classes of the 20th century. Of the 24 Essex-class carriers built, none were lost to enemy action, although several sustained significant battle damage. These carriers were veritable fortresses at sea that could carry approximately 90 aircraft on their armored hull and decks. It was also equipped with numerous weapons. In our version of the Essex, you will get: 4 x 127mm single cannons 4 x 127mm twin cannons 17 x 40mm Bofors guns 20 x 20mm twin Oerlikon guns 50 x 20mm single Oerlikon guns Magnitude 3 will also introduce eight Imperial Japanese ground units that includes trucks, anti-aircraft artillery, and tanks. These will be a fantastic addition to the upcoming, free, Mariana Islands World War II map. The AI Corsair, Essex-class aircraft carrier, and Imperial Japanese ground units will be available for all DCS players to ensure singleplayer and multiplayer compatibility. “As we near this significant milestone, we wish to convey our deepest appreciation for your remarkable support and enduring patience throughout these dedicated years. This project, without question, represents the longest and most demanding endeavor we have pursued within the DCS environment.” – Magnitude 3 LLC DCS x PIMAX Interview Pimax and Eagle Dynamics senior producer Matt “Wags” Wagner discusses how virtual reality is reshaping flight simulation, what goes into bringing DCS aircraft to life in VR, and their thoughts on the history, current state, and future of VR in DCS. Watch the full interview. DCS 4 Disabilities Community Highlight Among the many squadrons that fill the DCS virtual skies, few are as remarkable as DCS 4 Disabilities. This volunteer-run group began with a single wish: To make the cockpit feel welcoming to aviators whose bodies ask a little more patience from them. Their Discord has become a place where veterans with chronic pain, pilots who can fly only short stints, and newcomers who need adapted controls, trade tips, swap mission files, and share laughs. Today, we want to share one of their brightest stories. Lars, callsign Yoda, is a Swiss law student with severely restricted upper-body movement. For months he relied on a friend to act as his co-pilot and wear a head-tracker while he managed radios, weapons, and checklists. But the dream of looking around his cockpit never faded. When VR proved impractical, the group’s search led to Tobii eye-tracking. With it, Yoda’s gaze now translates into fluid head motion, freeing him to scan for bandits and lean into the turn as any other virtual fighter pilot. DCS 4 Disabilities is gathering footage of Yoda’s setup for a forthcoming YouTube series to inspire and spread awareness about accessibility in DCS. What began as a handful of determined fliers is fast becoming a beacon for accessible simulation. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

  6. I've restructured the entire roadmap; no information has been lost. It now reads as follows: - The first post covers the first decade of (2011-2020) DCS World. - The second covers the entire period from 2021 to 2024 (and cover the second decade of DCS World. - The third is the current year on course(actualy 2025). - The fourth maintain the list the upcoming DCS World modules - The fifth, which was previously a backup post, is now a links post with some DCS Info. The third post is only temporary; each time we change years, it will be moved to the previous post, leaving the current year in place, until the decade is over. If anyone sees any issues with the Roadmap, please send me a PM so I can correct them, including official information from the ED team or third parties about functionality, modules, etc., if anyone notices it, including social media.

  8. 13 June 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, The Kola map is progressing steadily with six new airfields, improved ground textures and reduced loading times slated for the next DCS update! Please read the details below and keep your eyes peeled for the incoming update. Development Screenshots. In collaboration with Magnitude 3 and to support the release of the F4U-1D Corsair, we are developing the United States Navy’s revolutionary weapon in the Pacific Theatre: the ASM-N-2 Bat, the world’s first fully automated, radar-guided glide bomb. Deployed in April 1945, the Bat’s active radar system made it a pioneer of modern missile technology capable of autonomously homing in on targets with deadly accuracy. Please read the details below. The Corsair is undergoing thorough tests, and we plan to deliver this module in the next update. We look forward to your feedback. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics DCS: Kola – One Year of Development A Year of Crafting the Battlefield One year on, the DCS: Kola map continues to expand as a dynamic and strategically significant theatre within DCS. Developed by Orbx, a leading scenery developer, this map spans over 1.35 million square kilometers of Arctic and sub-Arctic terrain covering northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia’s Murmansk and Karelia regions. Since release, the map has received substantial improvements; adding new airfields, infrastructure, visual improvements, and performance enhancements that have shaped it into the detailed and responsive environment it is today. Built for large-scale operations, the map blends complex infrastructure with fjords, tundra, forests, and mountainous zones layered with historical and modern-day military relevance. With more than 20 functional airfields, detailed ports, and key industrial zones already in place, Kola supports a wide variety of tactical scenarios. End of Early Access – 22 July 2025 The Kola map will exit Early Access on 22 July 2025. This marks the formal end of the initial launch phase, but not the end of development. Orbx remains committed to ongoing improvements, with new content and technical updates already planned. “The development of the Kola map is not ending with Early Access. We are committed to adding content and updating the map in line with the platform technical innovations. Orbx started to work on the map over three years ago and this has been a great project for us. We have learned much about DCS and will use that knowledge together with our passion for creating terrain and sceneries to enhance this map even further.” — Anna Cicognani, CEO, Orbx What’s Been Delivered 1.35 million km² of land and sea coverage 20+ airfields with surrounding infrastructure and navigation Custom ports, radar sites, urban centres, and military facilities Free and payware missions available via Orbx and ED stores Significant VRAM and performance optimisations Scheduled New Content for June 2025 Release: Kilpyavr (XLMW) Luostari (XLML) Koshka Yavr (XLMY) Kalevala (ULPK) Poduzhemye (XLPU) Afrikanda (XLMF) Coming Over the Next 3-6 Months: Airfields & surrounding infrastructure ESPG, ESNG, ENKA, ENVR, and EFRU Enhanced ground textures for low-level flight Continued VRAM and rendering performance updates Why Kola Matters The Kola region has long served as a critical military frontier — home to Russia’s Northern Fleet and dense Cold War-era infrastructure, now bordering NATO-aligned airspace. DCS: Kola remains in active development, with more content and improvements on the way throughout 2025. ASM-N-2 Bat America's First Radar-Guided Bomb The release of the ASM-N-2 Bat in DCS marks a significant advancement in World War II combat simulation by introducing the first operational radar-guided glide bomb to the battlefield. This weapon enhances the strategic depth and historical authenticity of late-war scenarios, allowing players to engage enemy ships from stand-off distances with unprecedented precision for the era. Its inclusion showcases evolving aerial strike capabilities and provides a unique tactical option for pilots flying U.S. Navy aircraft, emphasizing the technological innovation that began to reshape air warfare in the closing stages of WWII. Development and Design The Bat’s origins trace back to 1941, when RCA proposed a television-guided anti-shipping weapon called Dragon, where an operator would steer the bomb using a live TV feed from its nose. The National Bureau of Standards (NBS), later part of the Army Research Laboratory, was tasked with designing the airframe, building on the same guidable ordnance frame used in the earlier, abandoned Project Pigeon. By 1942, the concept evolved into the Pelican, a semi-active radar-guided bomb for anti-submarine warfare. In mid-1943, the design shifted again to incorporate an active radar homing system from Western Electric, paired with a 1,000-pound (454 kg) AN-M65 general-purpose bomb, the same ordnance used in the USAAF’s Azon guided munition. The final Bat design, officially designated SWOD (Special Weapons Ordnance Device) Mark 9, was a technological marvel for its time: The Bat featured a plywood frame, constructed by the Rudolph Wurlitzer Organ Co., known for its expertise in bending plywood for organs and jukeboxes. Its 12-foot-long, 10-foot-wide structure was gyrostabilized with a Bendix Aviation autopilot, using elevons (combined ailerons and elevators) for steering. Small wind-driven generators powered the controllable tail elevator, linked to an S-band radar homing device in the nose. The Bat carried a 1,000-pound general-purpose bomb, optimized for anti-shipping strikes but adaptable for land targets like bridges. Corsairs over the Marianas in 1944 June 1944. Dawn slides across the Pacific and glints off the blue-black wings of the brand-new F4U-1D Corsair as she taxis onto the deck of USS Essex. Below, a seething amphibious armada is already closing in on Saipan’s coral beaches. Flight-lead Lieutenant “Duke” Klein pulls his canopy shut, opens the cowl flaps, and spools the mighty R-2800 to life. The gull-winged fighter shudders like a thoroughbred straining against the blocks. One last magneto check, a green flag from the deck officer, and the Bent-Wing Bird is hurled into the humid morning sky. That take-off sequence is exactly what you’ll feel in DCS with the DCS: F4U-1D Corsair by Magnitude 3 LLC. The module is confidently approaching finals with our recent tests showing promising results for an early access launch. Stay tuned! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

Watch out for the surprise on Mission 15’s short final. UH-1H Peacekeeper Lebanon fixes its opening ferry flight by restoring the correct Almirante Lynch NDB, ensuring a smooth coastal hop. F/A-18C Inherent Resolve patches Mission 1’s stuck debrief, adds a TGP and extra ordnance, and fine-tunes Delta Flight re-joins; Mission 3 is now a hot-start armed-recce with optional Hard/Immortal modes, refreshed target sets and working audio cues. In the most recent update, you can also find that Reflected Simulations’ Tomcat and Phantom sagas have received quality-of-life passes. Fear the Bones and Speed & Angels now compute carrier wind-over-deck precisely, adopt Tomcatter 87’s new S-3 skins, and boost radio-signal strength. Both MiG Killers and Red Flag 81-2 integrate the latest Jester logic for snappier calls and smarter bars. Marianas WWII Development Progress Over the past quarter, we finalized the core terrain mesh, completed eleven wartime airfields based on survey data, and replaced modern infrastructure with heritage structures, including barracks, cane presses, and Shinto shrines. Vegetation density was recalibrated to 1940s agricultural patterns, and new shader compiling has shaved nearly 20% off GPU load in over-island dogfights. The free Marianas 1944 map is now feature-complete and internal testing is nearing completion. Currently, our artists are fine-tuning areas such as Ushi Point on Tinian and the Orote Peninsula based on 1944 field recordings, images, and footage. We are also working on mission content. Looking ahead, our next milestone is to lock the build and provide a release candidate to our internal and Closed Beta testers. We will then conduct large-scale multiplayer stress tests and deliver the map into Early Access. Stay tuned! 10. As I said in the FAQ. I will primarily make sure the mods are still working. And I will most likely remove redundant assets, as they get introduced as new and updated versions in core DCS. But since I really enjoy creating assets for DCS, I will probably add new stuff to the mods also.

  11. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! I'm rushing with hot news for fans of the OH-58D "Kiowa Warrior" and DCS. A substantial, fully professional single player campaign (quality of paid versions or even better) will soon be coming to the DCS simulator. The campaign is intended for the Polychop Simulations OH-58D module, but you also need to have a map of Afaghanistan (the south-western part or the entire map). It is also worth adding that the campaign was created in cooperation with Ryan Robicheaux, the pilot of the Kiowa Warrior and the author of the book "Scouts out!". The campaign period is 2010. The campaign has been ready for some time, and is currently being finalized. What's most important for you, despite the large amount of my work and investment, the campaign will be available for free for fans of DCS (similarly to my previous one for the Mi-24P). You will find a full description of the campaign's manual (it will be important). The campaign will be available for download via the DCS website in User files section soon. For now, this is just a preview. The most important features of the campaign: Over dozen single player missions (14, lasting from 40 minutes to 1,5 hours gameplay of each) taking place in Afghanistan (DCS: Southwest Afghanistan map or the whole DCS: Afghanistan map is needed) Realistic, detailed scenarios, based on real events of the Operation Moshtarak (2010) and its prelude (although of course the campaign was adapted to the DCS environment and its possibilities, thus achieving a compromise between history and playability) Story driven campaign with a detailed mission introduction, voice commands and plot twists during the mission Proceeding the campaigns as the pilot of OH-58D and co-pilot/gunner/AMC Full, advanced voice package in English, even your co-pilot received his role! Several thousand lines of subtitles in English (only English is supported language) Various types of missions (also artillery guidance), including night ones Dedicated skin for Kiowa Warrior from period of Afghan war As real as it gets - cold starts only, you also need to return to the airport/FOB/FARP after the mission and special mission completion mode Auto ATC (automatic communication during takeoff and landing is used after selecting the appropriate radio) Prepared briefings (description of the situation and tasks), full documentation, graphics and photos Important data in the pilot's kneeboard Summary (including tips and tricks) in the manual, check it before the flight ;)! FPS friendly (tested in VR too), only the most necessary units plus the surroundings Custom background’s music created for this campaign (after successful completion of the campaign online access to the soundtrack) I'm aiming to release it in June this year, so now you have a great time to refresh your memory of the OH-58D ! The topic related to the discussion of the campaign will be located at the OH-58D module, LINK HERE.

  14. Su-22m4 cockpit got proper normalmaps and roughmets now. Also, I announce that Su-22 will have some basic clickable functionality - simplified cold start, wing sweep controll, lights, gears, weapon panel etc Clickable cold start will fix problems with cold start that the mod currently have - Su-27 FM sees the plane as having 2 engines and nose wheel steering while Su25A avionics dont see it (and obvously we have one engine) It makes you unable to turn when started cold. Making a clickable action through lua should force comands like NWS on and "both" engines start into FM. We'll see how that works, stay tuned for more updates

  15. 20 June 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, In collaboration with Magnitude 3 we are delighted to bring you the long awaited early access launch of the DCS: F4U-1D Corsair. The ‘Bent Wing Bird’, as she was affectionately named, was built for long range air-to-air and air-to-ground attack operations and packed a serious punch with rockets, bombs and machine guns. It mainly flew over the expanse of the Pacific theater from land bases, but also operated from Essex-class aircraft carriers. Take a look at the launch video here. This is a classic not to miss. This week’s update focuses on providing a number of quality of life core improvements including AI and weapon improvements, with further refinement of the Quick Action Generator. Aircraft such as the F-16C, F/A-18C, and AH-64D as well as several 3rd party aircraft also received important enhancements, In addition to the Corsair, this update features the release of the highly detailed free DCS: Marianas WWII map. This is the first stage of our Pacific Theater of Operations scenario. We will be attending the FlightSimExpo 2025 from the 27th to the 29th of June at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence! Come and find us as guests of the WINWING booth; we’ll be showing off DCS with their latest hardware. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics F4U-1D Corsair Fly it in early access The early-access Corsair features a highly detailed and realistic cockpit and external model that are rendered entirely with PBR textures. The featured -1D version includes a Mk.8 Mod.1 fixed gunsight and even the ASM-N-2 Bat glide bomb. Flight modelling simulates the aircraft’s unique characteristics that made it a deadly opponent to Japanese forces in 1944 and quite a challenge to operate from an aircraft carrier. The Corsair's powerful engine and massive prop torque provides exceptional speed and climb that leant towards its slashing attack tactics against slower and less capable aircraft. Along with the Corsair release, an Essex-class aircraft carrier, Japanese coastal guns and ground vehicles will be available for free as part of the Core update. Other assets are being created such as the F6F Hellcat and many United States and Imperial Japanese air, ground, and naval units. Please see: Pacific Theatre of Operations | CH-47F Development Progress | Lunar Sale Final Hours - Official Newsletters - ED Forums. For this scenario, we are creating an extensive and accurate set of units that match the time and location. This will allow you to recreate the Battle for the Mariana Islands and the Battle of the Philippine Sea. The DCS: F4U-1D Corsair is available now for only $47.99 during the early access phase. Please note that once the module is released, the price will increase to $59.99. DCS Update Development Progress This week’s update is headlined by the free DCS: Marianas WWII map and the long-awaited DCS: F4U-1D Corsair. This update has also squashed several stability and performance bugs, improved AI behaviour, overhauled several missile flight models, and pushed a healthy list of quality-of-life fixes to the Quick Action Generator, Mission Editor, and Voice Chat. Marianas WWII A free map of the Mariana islands that includes Guam, Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and Pagan. Based on period maps and photos of the islands in the summer of 1944, they are characterized by hastily bulldozed runways, cane fields, volcanic ridges and villages under Imperial Japanese control. DCS Core Texture streaming now uses less RAM and disk I/O; Mission-Editor templates and resource-manager copy functions are now working correctly; WWII ground units received proper radar returns; SAM logic prioritises targets more sensibly; Buk and Kub missiles received improved aerodynamics, while the R-27 series of air-to-air missiles now deliver more accurate velocities. The Quick Mission Generator received several improvements such as fixing era/country mismatches, restoring missing aircraft and adjusting altitude and airspeeds. Voice-chat mode selection and mid-transmission slot-switch crashes have also been fixed. Eagle Dynamics Modules F/A-18C received more accurate AIM-7 FLOOD and AIM-9 uncage logic, and the flashlight behaviour has been fixed. Work continues on the new Terrain Avoidance radar mode and the ability to set surveillance MSI surveillance tracks as an L&S and DT2. F-16C Viper saw AGM-65 seeker fixes, INS/GPS drift corrections, HMCS symbology tweaks, and a long list of HAD and CMDS improvements, while the new AN/ASP-33 pod moved into extended testing. Although our hope and intention was to release this new targeting pod for the Viper by the end of Quarter 2 of 2025, it requires a bit more time in testing to ensure a quality release that will include new features such as Multi-Target Tracking (MTT), Picture-in-Picture that combines the infrared and TV cameras, Extended Range (XR) functions, and more. The planned release is for summer 2025. CH-47F receives a major CDU/MFD feature drop including hover-mode HSD, full fuel-and-power pages, data search, progress pages, plus keyboard entry options and pedal-trim fixes. Miscellaneous: the Su-25T instant-actions were added for the Iraq map; the F-86F jettison sound bug is silenced; and the Black Shark 3 enjoys ABRIS accuracy tweaks. Third-Party Additions Orbx – Kola adds six new arctic bases, colour-corrected summer textures, runway-data fixes and an optimisation sweep. Deka – JF-17 introduces TWS-EXP radar mode and radar-page HPT fixes. New Campaigns and Improvements The F-4E Northern Defenders Campaign by Flying Cyking and the P-47D Wolfpack II Overlord Campaign by Reflected Simulations are also now available. Along with the improvements included in last week's update, more campaign improvements will follow later in June. Read the full changelog. FlightSimExpo 2025 Come hang out with us! From the 27th to the 29th of June at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, we’ll be at FlightSimExpo 2025 showcasing two state-of-the-art cockpits equipped with the latest WINWING hardware and ready for you to jump in and experience DCS. We're also excited to share that Grinnelli Designs will be at the show with their own booth, showcasing the highly anticipated DCS: F-100D Super Sabre; a legendary Cold War-era jet. 19. I just wanted to thank the developers of the Corsair for creating such a beautiful module for DCS. The Corsair has been my absolute favorite aircraft for many years - I'm sure that I'm not the only one this applies to After years of flying the F4U in WT sim battles I found myself longing for a more accurate representation of this legendary aircraft and since some of the teasers published around 2019 I found myself excitedly waiting for the DCS Corsair! And now in 2025 it's finally here! I've taken the Hog out for a couple of test flights now and I just wanted to say WOW! What a gorgeous looking aircraft with amazing texture work and plenty of beautiful liveries (including some to roleplay -1 and -1A Corsair models!!). The flight model feels so detailed and rich as well, I'm not a real pilot but it certainly seems to check out compared to the stories from the pilots that actually flew these birds. It flies beautifully in DCS - my first flights really felt exhilerating and quite honestly made me sweat a little! This Hog is certainly gonna make me practice my stick 'n rudder skills a lot more! Can't wait to make some proper missions for the Ensign Eliminator It was worth the wait and certainly worth every penny - again, thanks so much for beautifully representing this legendary fighter in DCS. Of course, some screenshots below!

  20. Mini Update We know, we know. It's been quiet since we announced the C172M - too quiet. But not because we've been idle. Every bit of our development time is focused on bringing our Talon to life, and we're still optimistically aiming for a 2025 release. This is one of those cases where "no updates" really just means we're deep in the trenches, making steady progress where it counts. Truth is, preparing polished dev updates takes time. And right now, every minute counts. We'd rather put that time into the jet itself. In the meantime, here’s something tangible: a few shiny renders of your new helmet (WIP). More soon.

  28. Hi We are currently actively working on Cold War Germany phase 2 and decided to find out your wishes in order to find original objects/locations that we can additionally include in the list and without which it is impossible to release phase 2. Your wishes for phase 1 were very valuable, hints from local residents, guys who served in the service were very informative. Based on them, we adjusted the list: airfields, hangar types and much more were added. The goal of this topic: to find objects that are most important for the map: they played a significant role in the Cold War, it can be a landmark for navigation (antennas, towers, etc.), quarries without which the territory does not look like itself, a warehouse or a base. Or maybe some landmark without which the city loses its appearance? The idea with the city of Mannheim and “Kalimandscharo” seemed interesting to us. If you previously wrote wishes, you can duplicate the link to the topic. Let me remind you that we are looking at the entire Wishlist section, and in this topic we want to collect what you think is necessary to release Phase 2, and based on the responses and likes we will determine what to do first.

  33. Many here, including myself, have the problem, they cannot catch a wire in self created missions, while they trap nicely in the default missions. I did many tests from excluding mods to trying different maps. What I found is: I copied the carrier from the "Rising Sun" mission into my training mission - I caught the wire on the first attempt. I tried with my carrier: no trap. The only difference, my carriers are steaming SSW, the Rising Sun carrier steams NNE. So I turned the Rising Sun carrier 180° and did not catch the wires anymore. I then turned my carrier 180° and I immediately caught the wire. Winds were adjusted each time, of course. The results are reproducible - heading NNE: trap, heading SSW: no trap. My guess it has something to do with the algebraic sign of the x,z coordinates of the cables' start- and end points. Edit: Marianas WW2 map I also reproduced it on the Channel map: carrier heading SW - no trap, carrier heading NE - trap.

  34. I've noticed the good pilots are enjoying the Corsair, flying with friends, making videos, completing the training and racking up mission hours shooting down other aircraft. Rookie pilots that enjoy auto start and use the throttle like an On/Off switch or push the flight stick around like they are in a dog fight for a simple takeoff/landing are the ones struggling... Post a track so we can see how you are treating her during a fight.

  37. Been flying flight sims for 30 years, also real pilot for 16 and own and fly a warbird. IMHO the Corsair is fantastic, I made a list of what I like and what I think needs improvement, and what is great, feel free to add your input. Improvement needed Cockpit looks great but too dark Sound volume too low Is the suspension on the struts modelled? Is take off assist ON? seems very easy, it lifts the tail on its own. FM to be able to work with sticks with no extensions (but don't change so much it ruins it for guys with extensions and FFB, works great for us) Damage model for systems /engine (I know its in the works) Probably in the works, add more axis and setting to be able to be mappable. What is great Feel of flight is really good, maybe one of the best I have tried. FM (I am using extension and FFB and it feels great) Some of the damage model to the airframe, wings you get hit, get holes and it adds drag, damaged wing drops and makes it hard to fly, your elevator gets shot and plane becomes uncontrollable the damage visuals are also great, when the engine and systems damage model are complete, should be amazing. Finally an open canopy that adds drag (all other warbirds need this) Graphics , and attention to detail are amazing, makes the 109, P51 and Dora look ancient.

  42. Yes. As I've tried to explain in my FAQ. I do this so that you don't have to download the Complete pack with every little update. To save both on the user download and the daily Google Drive transfer limit. But to make things easier, I've just updated all the Complete packs to the latest fixpack level. So for first-time users there is no need to download anything else than the Complete pack.
