The main landing gear of the F-18 has two stage suspension. But at the moment the second stage is not damping at all.

Here are two pictures that show what i mean.

It seems that the high preassure chamber (I call it the second stage of the suspension) is modeled to stiff. No Matter how hard i touch down i cannot make it to move. In the DCS: Supercarrier Preview Video at 1:45 you can see how the second stage is totally stiff.

Only the first stage fully compresses at touch down. This results in a boring landing behavior, because the aircraft doesn't bounce like you can see in real videos.

Or here at 0:34 you can see how the tail bounces up again after touch down

In this video for the Su-33 you can see how a well modelled landing gear should behave and how it bounces after touch down (3:44)

I hope someone can look over it, so the landing of the F-18 gets more realistically

Bye, Smith

Hello BIGNEWY,

it has been more than a year now and it s still not fixed, even so the correction of the Flight Model was the top priority wish when Eagle Dynamics made the poll about which thing is most important to the community.

I hope ED didn't forget about it. It should be easy to adress, because only the spring rat e and the damping value has to be lowered. Yo-Yo did a good job with the FC3 planes, maybe he should look at it
