  2. I'm sure that it's already been done. I'd wager that Ed is aware but are burying their heads and in denial that the encryption is accomplishing what they hope for. OK, that's an honest statement and I can accept that making the MV functional is a low priority. I personally would be appeased if you assured me that it will eventually (within a reasonable timeline) be the solution instead of the much less desirable measure of coding the game to allow refreshing of skins only. As for the statement r.e. gaslighting, well that's what it feels like when request's for news are not responded to. That's very wishful thinking until this issue is resolved. See my statement "(within a reasonable timeline)" above. "Years" is not reasonable. Your statement implies that it will be several model releases before we see the solution. That certainly sounds like "years" to me. Bottom line, I am and have always been supportive of ED. I own most modules and almost always pre-purchase. My passion is Livery making and I have submitted numerous skins to UF for the enjoyment of the DCS community. I really enjoy the skin contests and am proud and grateful to have awarded in each one that I have entered. So, that is why I'm upset. I believe that I've been courteous and diplomatic in voicing my displeasure and am grateful for your responding in the same fashion.
  3. NineLine ED Team 32.5k 134 Author ED Team Posted 7 hours ago It is not up for discussion here, we have already stated what we are going to try to do elsewhere. Please keep the discussion on the MiG-29 FAQ here, thanks. Let's discuss it here then (or the F-5E thread)... I'm still not clear what the projected solution is from the team. I can say that the overwhelming majority of Livery makers want a Model Viewer revision that will read the encrypted files. Most (myself included) think that it is entirely possible. If you say that it's not possible please explain as to why not. It seems that y'all consider that being able to refresh the skins in game will be a solution but that is simply not true as a number of us have explained in the past. I have bumped the issue several times with @NineLine and @BIGNEWY @tags without response. It may be that you don't know or are not ready to share but the lack of response feels like gaslighting. Please note that I have previously purchased the F-5 upgrade and have also pre-purchased the MiG-29 as a token of support.
  4. Not if it's encrypted like the F-5E. Well, you might get some simple, run of the mill skins but not any good quality ones since all of the experienced / talented skinners will refuse to touch it. However, I did pre-purchase it as a gesture of support for ED and am crossing my fingers for a good outcome for the Livery community. Waiting to hear what @BIGNEWY and @NineLine have to say about it.
  5. Aaaannd, this begs the question. Will it be encrypted? @NineLine, @BIGNEWY?
  6. For me DCS, IL2, Google Chrome and other apps are always assigned "efficiency mode" by Windows 11. I've searched the webs as to how to disable this without success. Maybe someone here knows how to force Wondoze to do so. NVM - I found out how to disable it in the Registry. At least for the games. It still insists on efficiency mode for Chrome.
  7. I figured that it's time for my periodic bump... @NineLine anything new?
  8. The forum needs a ROFL reaction button

  10. Maybe a poll would help you determine the demand? Put me in for a solid +1!
  11. Pretty sure I know what the answer is but I gotta ask anyway . What are chances of getting a full flyable module of the Mi-28N in future?
  12. In the first video I found it interesting how much the pilot is working the throttle during the low altitude (I assume terrain masking) and it doesn't seem to follow a consistent pattern. Sometimes he's pulling power when initiating a high G turn and other times it's the opposite. I normally leave power set and only reduce when rolling inverted for down hill and punching it in high G. Maybe he's trying to maintain a set speed? Another thing noticed was the difficulty spotting the wingman when he was in combat spread (I did have the video set to max at 1080p). It seemed very similar to what I experience in my Pimax Crystal in game.
  13. We'll see what they come up with. I'm really hoping for a revised MV but...
  14. Have you actually seen military aircraft in real life? Here's a Reddit post from an F-16 crew chief replying to a question as to why the belly is so dirty: I used to be an F-16 Crew Chief, and in reality these jets are absolutely filthy. This one would actually be considered very clean - in the real world you'll typically see them with grease streaks across panels both on the underside and up top unless the people assigned to the jet are meticulous about wiping them down. But, because of the extreme labor demands of the job of maintaining these jets, often time wiping them down and keeping them looking clean just isn't a priority outside of aircraft washes required every 6 months or so (mileage may vary depending on which airforce owns any given F-16). Landing gear and wheels also get positively coated in brake dust. Link: I was not in the military but have seen lots of crusty military aircraft transit through our airport. I would imagine that while in a combat event airworthiness will always trump cosmetic appearance. I was an aircraft mechanic in GA and can attest to working aircraft often being filthy. Actually, my comment to the OP was somewhat tongue in cheek since this would probably be pretty low in the Dev's priorities.
